                                                                                      Indo-Australian Chamber of Commerce Business Mission to Australia

A 46 member Business Delegation from the Indo-Australian Chamber of Commerce led by Mr. C. Sarat Chandran will be visiting Australia from 7-14 October 2017. The delegation will visit Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and with a large number of Australian companies with the objective of developing trade relations between Australia and India.

Mr Sean Kelly, Australian Consul-General for South India hosted a farewell party to the delegates of the Mission on Tuesday October 3, 2017 at the Consulate-General in Chennai. Mr Kelly observed that the Indo-Australian relations have been steadily expanding in the past decade and the Chamber’s annual Business Mission that is now running into its 16th year has played a significant role in promoting trade between the two countries. 

Merchandise trade between Australia and India was valued at AUD 15,508 million in 2016.  Trade in services has grown rapidly in recent years, and was valued at more than AUD 5,233 in 2016. 

Mr Sarat Chandran, Director of the Chamber said that technology and education have emerged as powerful connecting links between India and Australia.
