Australian Institute Signs MoU with SRM University Film Institute

Australia’s SAE Institute, one of the world’s leading education services provider in the creative media industries, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with SRM Shivaji Ganesan Film Institute under which the two institutions would collaborate on a number of areas including joint project and research work, exchange of faculty, students and other educational programs.

The agreement, signed for a period of 5 years between the two institutes, underlines a deep interest in the film education industries of the two countries in working closely with one another.

“I am pleased that SRM Shivaji Ganesan Film Institute has entered into this partnership agreement with SAE Institute” said Mr Sean Kelly, Australian Consul-General to South India who was present at the signing of the MoU. “Australian institutes like SAE have made a vast contribution to the film industry worldwide. Students from SAE have been recognised at international forums and have won prestigious awards including at the Oscars. I look forward to Indian students benefitting from this expertise”.

The MoU promotes joint project and film research work between the two institutes in addition to regular exchange of faculty and students. There is also a focus on sharing of research outcomes, academic publications and other academic information.

SAE Institute, with 53 campuses in 27 countries, has been setting the global benchmark for creative media education since 1976. In Australia, the institute offers government accredited certificates, diplomas, and bachelor degrees across 6 disciplines – Animation, Audio, Design, Film, Games, and Web & Mobile. SAE Institute is owned by Navitas Limited.

SRM University offers a three years degree program, B.Sc. Film Technology in SRM Sivaji Ganesan Film Institute. Under the B.Sc. Film Technology, the institute offers five areas of specialization- Direction, Cinematography, Editing, Graphics and Animation and Sound.
